A cold front is pressing eastward across the area today, bringing us a pretty ugly Monday. Rain, with embedded downpours, will be with us throughout the day and into tonight. The front will actually slow down as it nears and passes the Cape tonight as a wave of low pressure develops along it…prolonging the damp conditions into Tuesday morning. Strong southerly winds (gusts 30 to 40 mph this morning) will accompany the rain for much of today…before transitioning to a raw, gusty north wind overnight tonight. One to two inches of rain is likely across the area, with some localized higher amounts possible.
