Windy, Mild

Fairly strong low pressure for this time of year is lifting away from the region today, sweeping yesterday’s warm and humid air mass out to sea. On the backside of this low and its attendant cold front, we’ll enjoy some nice weather to close out the work week – with generally sunny skies, warm temperatures and dropping humidity. Unfortunately, accompanying the comfortable conditions will be a frustrating west wind through the day. Winds will increase through the morning hours and will remain gusty into the afternoon, occasionally gusting to 30 to 40 mph. Higher gusts – on the order of 40 to 50 mph are possible across central and northern parts of New England where Wind Advisories are posted. Gale Warnings are flying for the coastal waters.
