Cold Northeast Wind

Another southwestward moving frontal zone (the infamous backdoor cold front) is sliding through the area Saturday morning, shifting winds to the northeast and bringing another shot of chilly air to the region. Temperatures have peaked in the 50s this morning but will actually fall through most of the remainder of day as low level cold air backs westward in off the ocean. Similar to Thursday, temperatures will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s during the afternoon hours with a gusty onshore wind.
