Frosty Start

If we’re lucky – and I’m educated-guessing that we will be – this morning will be the coldest morning until next Fall/Winter. Clear skies and light winds, along with a dry, cool airmass, allowed temperatures to plummet overnight. Readings this morning are in the 20s across the Cape, with many neighborhoods solidly down in the middle 20s. The result has been a thick early morning frost. While we can’t rule out another frost or two through the remainder of April and early part of May, chances are pretty good we won’t get this cold again. Winds will swing around to the southwest this afternoon and milder air will start to move into the area. Temperatures will recover to 45 to 50F for afternoon highs.
