Visible satellite imagery Thursday morning shows virtually no cloud cover across the Northeast and New England. In fact, other than some high cloudiness across the Great Lakes and some cloud cover moving into Florida, most of the eastern half of the nation is cloud-free this morning. As such, we can anticipate lots of strong early June sunshine through the day today. Temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s early on will jump to 70F by mid-morning and continue to climb into midday, with high temperatures in the 70s to around 80F during early afternoon. In typical Cape Cod fashion, a busy summer southwest breeze will develop during the afternoon and that’ll likely knock the temperature back a few degrees, particularly along the south side of the Cape from Chatham to Woods Hole and up into Buzzards Bay (water temperatures are still only around 60F). Similarly nice weather is expected to close out the work week.
