Rainfall Totals

A quick look back at Monday and Tuesday’s soaking rain. While Monday’s rainfall was rather hit or miss and generally light, heavier rain overspread the area Monday night and Tuesday (and really persisted right through Tuesday night) and produced some impressive rainfall totals around parts of the area. While just about everyone saw at least one to two inches of rain, the Middle and Upper Cape were impacted by a couple of rounds of nearly stationary downpours which deposited several inches of rain in short order and led to some localized rainfall totals in excess of six inches! Pockets of street flooding were common throughout Falmouth as a result of the heavy rain. In addition to the heavy rain, gusty winds to 40 to 45 mph impacted the Cape, as low pressure passed south of the area (looked like a Nor’easter, quacked like a nor’easter).
