Good timing. After a cloudy, cool and damp Sunday and Monday, drier air has built into the region just in time for Halloween.
While moisture from the last couple of days is lurking to our south – and will make a return late tonight and Wednesday – we’ll squeeze in some decent weather this afternoon and this evening for Halloween festivities. Satellite imagery this morning shows some mid and high level clouds streaming overhead. Meanwhile, surface observations around the region show temperatures in the 40s, partly cloudy skies and a gusty north wind. This will be the general theme for the day today – a mix of sun and clouds, cool temperatures and a busy, but subsiding, wind.
As you head out this evening, expect clouds to be on the increase and temperatures to be on the chilly side. Readings will struggle to get to 50F today and temperatures are likely to be falling through the 40s this evening. We’ve certainly dealt with lower temperatures on Halloween but it will feel kind of cold out there this evening. Thankfully, the gusty breeze that ushered in the chilly air overnight will subside through the day today and wind won’t be a big factor this evening.
