Sunday is looking like a pretty ugly day around the area with wind-whipped rain and drizzle throughout much of the day…with precipitation eventually transitioning to some light snow during the afternoon and evening hours. It’ll be chilly and raw thoughout the day with temperatures gradually falling into the 30s and winds gusting 35 to 45 mph.
Not expecting much in the way of snowfall accumulation locally. We could start as a bit of snow this evening before we go over to all rain, which could lead to a coating to an inch of snow (best odds of that are on the Upper Cape toward the Canal) which will melt/get washed away overnight.
There’s a chance that enough moisture lingers over the Cape and temperatures cool fast enough on the backside of the storm Sunday afternoon and evening that rain flips to some light accumulating snow before ending Sunday night. That could lead to a coating to an inch of snow around the area before things end.
Either way, this will system will be remembered as a rainstorm for our area.
