Good Day to Stay Inside

Low pressure lifting up the Eastern Seaboard is going to track very near to the Cape later today and tonight. This weather system is going to yield a rather ugly weather day today, with cloudy skies from start to finish, mist and drizzle eventually becoming a steady (and then heavy) rain during the afternoon and evening, windy conditions and temperatures slowly climbing through the 40s. Far from ideal.

A period of strong gusty southerly winds are likely late in the day and into the evening hours, as a powerful low level jet passes over the area. Thankfully, this time of year, it’s particularly challenging to mix these winds down to the surface, so peak gusts should generally be on the order of 40 to 55 mph, with the higher end being fairly isolated and brief. A Wind Advisory is posted for the area.
