Unfortunately last night did indeed end up colder than earlier in the week and much of the Cape had a late season killing freeze. Temperatures fell well down into the 20s in many areas. Temperatures that cold this late in the season result in damage to early season plantings and even damage some native budding and flowering plants and shrubs. As of 6AM this morning, readings had fallen as low as 27F at Hyannis and Falmouth. Certainly some neighborhoods are colder than that.
