Something Completely Different

After a long – in some cases record-breaking – stretch of dry weather, we now get to endure several days of damp, inclement weather. A large area of slow-moving low pressure will wobble around south of the region for the remainder of the week and into the weekend, resulting in a period of rather lousy weather. While it won’t be raining the entire time, onshore flow will result in passing showers and areas of mist and drizzle today, Friday and Saturday. Northeast winds will ramp up today and remain quite gusty Friday and Saturday – with a few Outer Cape wind gusts to 35 to 40 mph possible for a time Friday. That persistent gusty onshore wind, combined with Full Moon high tides, will result in some beach erosion and pockets of minor coastal flooding during several high tide cycles.
