A powerful spring storm has been working its way across the central and eastern half of the US, bringing a wide variety of dangerous weather – including blizzard conditions in the Northern Plains, numerous strong tornadoes over the Mississippi River Valley and a large area of dust storms and wildfires to the Southern Plains. This satellite image from Friday afternoon captures the expansive area of smoke and dust moving across parts of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. This storm system will make its way into our area Sunday night and Monday, bringing a good soaking rain and some strong gusty winds.
