High pressure is locked in over the area but it’s a cold one. Temperatures across the Northeast are starting the day in the 10s and 20s – with temperatures mostly in the 20s here on the Cape – and will struggle to rise a whole lot considering the time of year. We can expect afternoon temperatures in the middle 30s, which is a solid 10F below average for mid-March. Thankfully, Tuesday’s gusty west wind, which lingered through Tuesday night, will relax as today goes on and from midday through the afternoon winds will be rather light…so it won’t feel quite so cold. With that high pressure sitting overhead, clear skies and light winds means we can expect another cold night tonight, with readings falling well down into the 20s…with some upper 10s possible in a few spots.
