We’re going to have to be on the lookout for some brutally cold air across a good chunk of the Lower 48 next week. It’s still a bit early forecast-wise to say that confidence is high but signs are there for a very cold stretch sometime during the week of the 20th. Today’s 12z ECMWF engulfs the eastern third of the nation in the icebox. Stay tuned.
