The work week will close out on a sunny and pleasant note. Sunshine will dominate from start to finish and temperatures will jump into the 50s across most of the area. The only downside to the day: a busy southwest wind will develop this morning and continue into the afternoon – cutting back the warmth a bit, especially along the south side of the Cape. This morning’s satellite imagery shows a band of clouds over the central Great Lakes associated with a surface cold front. That frontal zone – which may be accompanied by a quick sprinkle or shower – will slide through the area very late tonight and push offshore early Saturday morning.
