Sunny and Warm

Not much to talk about weather-wise Thursday. Other than maybe a couple of episodes of passing high thin clouds, clear skies should dominate through the day. Temperatures, which started out a bit cool (got down to 55F at Hyannis/Barnstable airport) will jump into the 70s by mid-morning and continue to climb into midday and early afternoon…topping out in the middle 70s to lower 80s across the Cape. Dew point values will hold in the comfortable range through the day – so overall a pretty nice June day. A southerly wind will kick in this afternoon, maybe knocking temperatures back a hair from Chatham over to Hyannisport…but more so it’ll signal the arrival of increasingly humid air to end the work week. That air mass will eventually introduce some cloud cover to the forecast for tonight and tomorrow and may yield some areas of fog.
