Inside Day

Low pressure passing south of the area is acting like a mini-nor’easter to start our Tuesday – producing a gusty east wind, cool temperatures and lots of intermittent precipitation – and very little in the way of improvement is expected through the day today. This weather system will only slowly push eastward over the next 12 to 24 hours, keeping it’s onshore flow in place into the evening and nighttime hours of Tuesday. As a result, clouds and off and on rain and drizzle are likely to persist throughout the day and into Tuesday night before drier air finally starts to take hold. With the wind off the water, temperatures won’t move a whole lot through the day…generally holding steady in the 60s. Computer model cross sections show drier air starting to take hold tomorrow, which should lead to nicer weather for midweek as the sun reemerges during Wednesday.
