Windy and Cool

A cold front cut across the region on Tuesday, putting an (temporary) end to our run of mild weather. That cold front, and associated high pressure building south from Canada, is helping to deflect hurricanes Humberto and Imelda well out to sea to our south. However, the combination of high pressure trying to shift southward from Canada and the two tropical systems to our south is yielding a tight pressure gradient across the area today. That tight pressure gradient will produce gusty northeast winds throughout Wednesday and make it feel quite cool today and tonight. Winds will slacken off on Thursday but it’ll remain chilly. Milder, followed by much warmer, weather will return late in the week and into the weekend. No rainfall is anticipated until at least the middle of next week.
