A fast-moving and quickly deepening low pressure center will pass through New England tonight (bringing us another round of showers and maybe a quick downpour and rumble of thunder) and exit through the Gulf of Maine tomorrow. Out ahead of this storm, and again on the backside of the system, strong winds will impact the area (first from the southwest and then from the northwest). Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph are likely around the area and some spots will likely approach 60 mph. Watch for some tree and limb damage and power outages. The strongest of the wind will come during the overnight and pre-dawn hours…with gusty conditions gradually relaxing through the day on Thursday.
