Strong low pressure is anchored to our northeast and only slowly wobbling away from the region. That deep storm system is creating a tight pressure gradient across the Northeast and New England, resulting in strong gusty west and northwest winds. Conditions will only slowly improve over the next 24 hours as the storm inches away from the region and high pressure to our west gradually shifts eastward and weakens the pressure gradient.
