Snowfall Forecast

Colder air is oozing back into the region and will intersect with a quick moving wave of low pressure to produce a light to moderate snow event around the area Sunday night. While light rain and snow will move in and out of the area during the daylight hours, steadier/heavier snow will begin to overspread the region during the afternoon hours and continue through a good chunk of the night. Temperatures initially will be rather marginal for good accumulation (32-35F) but eventually temperatures should settle to the freezing mark area-wide. That process may take a touch longer on parts of the Lower and Outer Cape and out on the Islands…but overall a “good” plowable snowfall is expected tonight. With Monday being a holiday, limited travel/commuter impacts are anticipated Monday morning.
