After a dreadful day on Saturday, much nicer weather is in store for a good chunk of Sunday. Expect deep blue skies and sunshine throughout the morning hours and into the first part of the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the 60s and winds will be much lighter than yesterday. Unfortunately, the entire day won’t be perfect. Another upper level disturbance will drop southward across the area and produce another round of showers and thunderstorms later in the day and into the night. Model guidance is in pretty good agreement that several rounds of showers with embedded lightning / thunder will drop southward across eastern Massachusetts and impact the Cape from late afternoon onward. Keep an eye to the sky and the radar. A simulated radar image gives a sense of the extent and coverage of precipitation late today.
