One last murky day to deal with before things improve dramatically. Cloudy, damp and cool conditions Monday morning will hang on into midday and early afternoon. The combination of gray skies, a light onshore wind, maybe some patchy mist, and just a cool air mass overall, will make for a rather chilly, blah feel to the start of the work week. However, as we move into the afternoon hours drier air will gradually start to win out, eroding the cloud deck and allowing for increasing amounts of blue sky and pockets of sunshine. If all goes according to plan, the end of the day should be much more pleasant than the beginning (sort of a flip/flop of Sunday). After today, a big upper level ridge and a corresponding surface high pressure will lock in over the eastern United States for the remainder of the week, yielding sunny and increasingly warmer weather Tuesday through Saturday.
