Tuesday will go down in the books as a gray and wet day around the area. We can expect cloud cover to hold firm throughout the day and off and on episodes of wet weather to cross the Cape. Embedded in those periods of rain will be some heftier downpours and thunderstorms which are likely to deposit 1 to 2 inches of rain in some neighborhoods. While it won’t be pouring rain all day, today is definitely the weather clunker of the week and far from a summer beach day on the Cape. Monitor the radar through the day to track the showers and storms as they move through the area. Use caution if out and about this morning as numerous showers and thunderstorms are crossing through the region producing pockets of torrential rain and difficult travel conditions.
