A slow moving storm system wobbled across the area over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, bringing us a lengthy period of dreary weather. Here on the Cape, we escaped the worst of the storm as the heaviest rains were focused to our west (rainfall totals of 5-10″ were reported in some interior cities and towns), but we still managed a decent soaking rain with generally 1/2 to 1 inch of rainfall recorded over the two days. While a leftover shower or two is possible today, the brunt of the system’s wet weather is now offshore and heading seaward. Conditions will gradually improve today and better weather is in store for the weekend. Our next shot at meaningful precipitation should come Sunday night into Monday.
