Humid Stretch Underway

August is here and so is the humidity. A warm and muggy pattern is evolving and will hold in place for much of the upcoming work week. The combination of an offshore ridge of high pressure and rather persistent Great Lakes troughing will yield a long-lasting fetch of southerly winds over the region. Those southerly winds will keep a consistent feed of muggy air riding northward up the Eastern Seaboard, which will mean lots of high humidity (dew point values frequently near 70F) throughout the forecast period.
