Our run of unseasonably warm June weather continues today. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day today with temperatures climbing into the 80s (many spots have already climbed over 80F as of mid-morning). Thankfully, dew point values will remain relatively low so it won’t feel overly muggy. Light and variable winds this morning will become an active southwest breeze during midday and continue through the remainder of the afternoon. That southwest breeze will tend to knock temperatures back a few degrees off of their midday peak. A cold front will approach the region from the west tonight and cut through the area around dawn. Out ahead of the front, showers, downpours and some thunderstorms will move eastward through Southern New England overnight, yielding a period of wet weather around the Cape. While a widespread soaker is not anticipated, most of us should at least pick up some measurable rain. If your town is lucky enough to see a few downpours, squeezing out a half-inch of rain is possible.
