A warm front will move through New England over the next 12 to 18 hours, bringing us an increase in cloud cover today and the risk for a couple of showers tonight. Behind that front, a mid-summer like air mass will shift into the region with well above normal temperatures expected across the Northeast and New England tomorrow and Friday. Here on the Cape, the most noticeable aspect to the incoming frontal zone will be big uptick in humidity. After a couple of days of very comfortable air to start the week, dewpoints will climb into the 60s today and reach into the middle and upper 60s tomorrow and Friday – perhaps flirting with 70F for a time. With the addition of the muggy air, low clouds and fog may develop and impact the area at times, especially during the evening and overnight hours through the end of the week. The Wednesday morning visible satellite image shows cloud cover associated with the incoming warm front shifting eastward from New York State toward New England, with sunshine hanging on for now over the Cape.
