A hot and humid air mass is building into the region and will really take hold of our weather for the second half of the work week. Daytime temperatures will near or pass 90F Thu-Sat here on the Cape, with the peak of the heat and humidity coming Friday into July 4th. In fact, parts of the Cape should head for 95-100F Friday afternoon. As for our Wednesday, while temperatures inland are headed for 90F+, we will enjoy one last day of tolerable temperatures thanks to a busy southwest breeze off the water. Not only is the breeze itself helpful, but for far SE MA, the Cape and Islands that southwest wind is crossing over a vast expanse of cooler water and helps hold air temperatures in check. So expect daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s today vs the 90s anticipated over the bridge. It will, however, turn noticeably more humid. With the heat and humidity building into the region, a scattered shower or t-storm can’t be entirely erased from the forecast during the day today and through tonight.
