Sunny and Hot

It’s a pretty straight-forward weather forecast for Friday: basically just sunny, hot, humid. Visible satellite imagery this morning shows hardly a cloud to be found across the Northeast. Other than a touch of wildfire smoke in the atmosphere producing some thin haze in spots, sunshine will dominate from start to finish today. 6AM temperatures had already passed 80F on parts of the Cape (Hyannis was officially 81F at the 5:56am observation) and readings will jump quickly through the 80s this morning and into the 90s for highs. Parts of the Cape will likely push into the middle and upper 90s during early and mid-afternoon. Winds will be fairly light through the day so don’t anticipate much, if any, relief in the air…even right to the beaches. Dew point values will hold in the 70s through the day, creating Heat Index Values over 100F.
